Wolfgang Baumgartner, CEO of NETAVIS Software GmbH, started the event with a welcome to all international guests and a short overview on upcoming and currently important topics. He presented also the NETAVIS „all-in-one“ IP surveillance solution, based on the cooperations with the Asian storage experts Thecus and with computer specialist Hewlett-Packard (HP) respectively. Combining network video recording systems of Thecus and HP with NETAVIS Software Observer 4 is resulting in unique out-of-the-box Appliances. They entail faster installations, higher stability, and require less on-site testing. Bith partners, Thecus and HP were showing their devices live at their booths.
Chris Vandebrouck and Darren Shurmer followed. They spoke about intelligent HD and Hybrid camera technology by Sony, which enhances picture sharpness, and clearity due to noise reduction and visibility enhancer. Afterwords NETAVIS presented the features shown live on the NETAVIS VMS and VCR booths during the two days event.

Another program highlight of the first day was the European premiere of Axis’s latest camera development, the Model Axis P-85. This particular network camera is almost invisible due to its tiny lense which is premounted in 1,6m height in a tube alike water or electricity pipes. In contrary to regular over head mounted cameras, this one provides broad overview over the scene as well as reliable face detection.

In the afternoon, Florian Wurzer, easyplex Software, and Wolfgang Baumgartner, NETAVIS, spoke about the dawning convergence of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM). All relevant security and facility management applications like access control or alarm sensors can be integrated together with video surveillance and analytics in a PSIM software platform, thus easy and centrally processed. Improved overview, control and evaluation as well as reduced costs are some of the benefits of an integrated PSIM solution like MerAPI by easyplex.
Last not least Waldemar Gollan, Arecont Vision, depicted „The Power of MegaPixel“ in his presentation about IP mega pixel cameras. Networking, sharing experience and having fun together was ensured by a typical Viennese wine tavern visit with traditional dishes and drinks.

The second European premiere on NETAVIS Observer Summit 2012 presented JCV Professional first in the next morning. Six all new surveillance cameras with Super LoLux™ technology provide fully colorfast pictures even with very poor light conditions. Due to increased power efficiency, these cameras are very eco friendly. Added value distributor Allnet, represented by Erik Mosler, informed about a new network technology especially for large security and video analytics installations called "Industrial Powerline Serie" von Allnet.
Additionally, best practice examples, like the large and complex project “City Vienna - Wiener Wohnen”, were discussed by all involved technology partners. Afterward chief developer of NETAVIS seamlessly integrated video analytics software iCAT, László Dezsényi, spoke about interesting challenges of video analytics and current solutions, video streams and pictures showed innovative features of iCAT. Finally, NETAVIS product manager Ernő Gylas depicted the developmental roadmap for NETAVIS Observer and iCAT.

„We very much appreciate the fact, so many customers and partners were following our invitation to Vienna. The NETAVIS Observer Summit is a great opportunity to provide all guests with latest news and innovativations around video surveillance, video analytivs and physical security”, Wolfgang Baumgartner, CEO, NETAVIS Software GmbH, summed up the event.
